A 29-year-old doctor allegedly <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/woman-phd-research-scholar-dies-by-suicide-in-pune-guide-arrested-for-harassment-23625511" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">died by suicide in Ravet in Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune district</a> on Saturday morning, a police official said.
The deceased was identified as Shweta Rokade (29), a native of Latur district, who was staying in a rented flat in a nearby housing society and was attached to a hospital, the official said.
&ldquo;Rokade entered the under-construction building this morning after making an entry under a different name. The incident came to light around 20 to 25 minutes later after a loud noise was heard,&rdquo; he said.
As there were no CCTV cameras at the building, police examined footage from nearby locations and traced the woman to her rented accommodation, and a search of her flat led to the recovery of a suicide note.
&ldquo;The note states that she alone is responsible for her death. It does not level any allegation against any individual or institution,&rdquo; he added.
The woman&rsquo;s mobile phone and other belongings have been seized for examination, while the body has been sent for post-mortem. An accidental death report is being registered, and further probe is underway.
