Centre sanctions 10 lakh additional rural homes for Maharashtra, says CM Devendra Fadnavis

The Central Government has approved an additional 10,29,957 rural homes for Maharashtra under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) for the financial year 2025–26, taking the total sanctioned homes for the state under the scheme to 44,70,829, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in a post on social media platform X.

Fadnavis, expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said the latest approval reflects the government’s commitment to “building a self-reliant rural Maharashtra.”

Speaking at the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) Labharthi Melava’ and the ‘Maha Awas Abhiyan Rajyastariya Award Ceremony’ in Pune, Fadnavis highlighted Maharashtra’s distinction as the first state in India to receive a record allocation of 30 lakh houses under PMAY-G, based on the 2011 Homeless Survey List.
