Karnataka: FIR to be registered against those driving beyond 130 kmph from Aug 1

The rule will be applicable to all the roads and it would not be only limited to highways, a senior official said

The Karnataka Police will register an FIR against those driving beyond 130 kilometres per hour anywhere in the state from August 1, a senior traffic police official said on Monday, reported the PTI.
According to the official, over-speeding causes about 90 per cent of fatal accidents in the state.
