Twenty-one killed as bus rolls down hill in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur

At least 21 people were killed and 29 injured after a passenger bus lost control and rolled down a hillside in Udhampur. An Army convoy led rescue efforts, while leaders including Narendra Modi announced compensation for victims

A passenger bus rolled down a hillside in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Monday, leaving 21 people dead and 29 others injured, officials said.

Army to the rescue

An Army convoy passing along the hilly stretch led the rescue operation after the driver of the private bus lost control while negotiating a blind curve near the hilltop Kagort village in the Ramnagar area around 10 am.
