J&K floods: Death toll reaches 10 as cloudbursts devastate Rajouri, Poonch

Flash floods triggered by multiple cloudbursts have devastated Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri and Poonch districts, killing at least 10 people and leaving eight missing. Dozens of homes, vehicles and public infrastructure were damaged, while rescue teams from the Army, SDRF, NDRF and police continue the search and relief.

As the horrors of unprecedented death and destruction caused by the flood unfold in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, bone-chilling reports of human suffering and infrastructure collapse came to light on Monday, with hundreds of fortunate civilians escaping death with a whisker.L-G Manoj Sinha took stock of the situation on Sunday.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting of senior officers in Jammu, directing every department to go all out to help the affected families.
