A lion was found dead in a 30-foot-deep well in a village in Gujarat's Gir Somnath district on Friday, a forest official said. The carcass of the big cat, aged around three to five years, was found in Dhokadva village of Gir Gadhada taluka, he said.

“The lion fell into the 30-foot-deep water-filled well after tearing through the net covering it,” assistant conservator of forest Kapil Bhatia said. The carcass was fished out around 9 am and sent for post-mortem, he said.
