<p>The Pune district administration has imposed a complete ban on the use of laser lights <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/ganeshotsav-2026-pune-residents-ganesh-mandals-clash-over-loud-dj-music-ahead-of-festival-23647561" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">during Ganesh Visarjan processions</a>. District Collector Jitendra Dudi issued the order to ensure that the immersion processions are conducted peacefully.</p>
<p>The restriction will remain in force for processions scheduled between September 14 and September 25, including those held on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The move comes following protest by citizens on Sunday, raising concerns over excessive noise during festival processions and its impact on citizens.</p>

<p>The administration has warned that strict legal and penal action will be taken against individuals, organisations, and Ganesh mandals found violating the order. The administration is expected to closely monitor Ganesh mandals and processions, and those using laser lights will face action under Section 223 of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/bns-with-great-power-comes-great-responsibility-23360118" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)</a> and other applicable laws.</p>

<p>The decision comes amid growing concerns over the use of high-intensity sound and light systems during Ganesh festival processions. The atmosphere in Pune has been increasingly charged over the issue, particularly after the Pune police imposed restrictions on DJs during Ganesh processions.</p>

<p>With the latest order, the administration has now moved to regulate not only high-volume sound systems but also potentially harmful laser lighting during the festival. Officials said the measures are aimed at ensuring that the celebrations remain peaceful while safeguarding public health and maintaining law and order.</p>
