At least four people travelling in an SUV died after the vehicle fell nearly 500 feet into a gorge at Tamhini Ghat in Raigad district in Maharashtra, along the Pune-Mangaon road, officials said.

The exact time of the accident is not yet known, but authorities believe it may have taken place several days ago. Early reports suggest that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into the deep valley.
