Amid the chaotic situation in Delhi after opposition leaders staged a massive protest in Delhi against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday further clarified that no political party had sought an appointment for a meeting until 4 pm.

In an official press note issued on October 6, the ECI said it learnt through the media earlier in the day that some Members of Parliament wanted to meet the Commission along with their delegation. However, the poll panel said that “till 4.00 PM today, no political party, through its representatives, had sought an appointment” for a meeting.
