ECI begins preparations for Vice-Presidential election following Dhankhar's resignation

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has begun preparations for the upcoming Vice-Presidential election, following the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar.

In an official press release, the ECI stated that the election schedule will be announced soon after completing the necessary formalities. These include the formation of the Electoral College, comprising both elected and nominated members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the appointment of the Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officers, and the compilation and circulation of background material on previous Vice-Presidential elections, according to news agency ANI. 

The commission is moving swiftly to ensure all preparatory steps are in place ahead of the official announcement.
