Maharashtra: Central Railway announces 26 special trains for Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din 2026

Central Railway has announced 26 special train services and made extensive arrangements at Nagpur and Ajni railway stations in Maharashtra to manage the expected influx of around 25 lakh additional passengers during the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din 2026 celebrations from October 19 to 22The arrangements include additional passenger holding areas shuttle bus services ticketing facilities medical assistance and enhanced security to ensure the smooth movement of devotees visiting Nagpur for the fourday event Fourteen trains will also have temporary halts at Ajni station during this periodAdditional holding areas at Nagpur and Ajni stationsTo prevent overcrowding Central Railway is setting up a holding area on the eastern side of Nagpur station in the Santra Market area An additional holding area will be arranged in the parking area at Ajni stationBoth facilities will have lighting fans mobile toilets and seating arrangements for passengersCar parking facilities at Nagpur and Ajni stations will remain closed from October 19 to 22 Passengers have been advised to make alternative arrangements to reach the stationsAdditional ticketing facilities assistance centre at DeekshabhoomiFive additional Mobile Unreserved Ticketing System MUTS facilities will be provided at Nagpur Railway Station with similar facilities available at the holding areas at Nagpur and Ajni Additional ticketchecking staff will also be deployed to regulate passenger movement and assist commutersA dedicated Passenger Assistance Centre has been established at Deekshabhoomi to provide information about special trains and facilitate ticket issuance Special train timetables will be displayed at the centre to help devotees plan their journeysTo manage crowds the sale of platform tickets at Nagpur and Ajni stations will remain suspended from October 19 to 22Medical facilities drinking water and shuttle serviceslsquoMay I Help Yoursquo booths will be set up on both sides of Nagpur station and at Ajni station to guide passengers and provide travelrelated informationEmergency medical facilities and ambulance vans will be available at both stations to handle medical emergencies Central Railway has also made arrangements to ensure adequate supplies of safe drinking water including chilled waterShuttle bus services will be part of the arrangements to facilitate passenger movement during the celebrationsEnhanced security and surveillance at stationsAdditional Railway Protection Force RPF personnel will be deployed to manage crowds and ensure passenger safety CCTV cameras will be installed at strategic locations while RPF and Government Railway Police GRP personnel will conduct roundtheclock patrollingAdditional cleaning staff will be deployed at railway stations and holding areas as part of the Special Campaign 60 for the disposal of pending matters and to maintain cleanliness during the eventNagpur Division officers will monitor arrangements and coordinate with the departments concerned to address issues promptlyOver 100 banners and 25 hoardings for passenger guidanceCentral Railway has installed more than 100 banners and 25 large hoardings at strategic locations across Nagpur to inform passengers about special train timings temporary halts operational changes and movement restrictionsPassengers have been advised to plan their journeys in advance use the special train services and follow instructions issued by railway staff They have also been asked to check official railway enquiry channels and social media handles for updates on train timings halts and reservations before travellingThe arrangements have been announced by Central Railwayrsquos Nagpur Division ahead of the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din celebrations which are expected to draw a large number of passengers to the city
