The southwest monsoon lashed the national capital and surrounding regions after days of warm and humid weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Delhi-NCR as intense showers continue to affect several parts of the region

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Delhi-NCR as intense showers continue to affect several parts of the region as parts of the national capital experienced relentless rainfall on Friday.

The rains provided respite from the heat and humidity but triggered extensive waterlogging and severe traffic congestion across several parts of the region.
