Delhi has unveiled its most ambitious electric vehicle policy yet, offering tax waivers, purchase incentives and a phased transition away from petrol and CNG vehicles as it aims to curb pollution by 2030.
The policy, which comes into effect on July 1 after the Lieutenant Governor’s approval, also promotes electric trucks, school buses and autorickshaws, while experts and transport unions say its success will hinge on charging infrastructure and financial support for users.
