According to the health ministry, as of 4 June 2025, India has reported 4,302 active Covid-19 cases, with 864 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours. Most infections are mild and being treated at home. Since the beginning of the year, 44 deaths have been reported, mainly among people with existing health conditions

In view of the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in India, the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday said that it has asked states to ensure the availability of oxygen supplies, isolation beds, ventilators, essential medicines and hold preparedness drills.
