Central Railway's Solapur division adds advanced 8-wheeler tower wagon for future electrification upgrades

The Solapur Division of Central Railway has inducted a new 8-wheeler Tower Wagon for its Traction Distribution (TRD) Department, aimed at strengthening electric traction infrastructure and enhancing operational reliability.
Designed for improved stability, safety, and efficiency, the tower wagon will support maintenance teams in carrying out Overhead Equipment (OHE) works more effectively. It will play a crucial role in the upgradation of the OHE network from the conventional 1×25 kV AC system to the advanced 2×25 kV AC traction system, enabling the division to meet future traffic growth and higher power demands.
