BSP supremo Mayawati on Wednesday urged authorities and school managements to resolve disputes over wearing hijab in schools through mutual understanding, saying such sensitive matters should not be given undue importance or turned into legal disputes and should not become an opportunity for “narrow politics”.
Mayawati calls for respect for religious beliefs
In a post on X, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said the Constitution, framed under the leadership of Dr B R Ambedkar, guarantees equal rights to people belonging to all religions and communities.
