Breaking: Air India flight with 242 passengers crashes near Gujarat's Ahmedabad airport

The fire officer Jayesh Khadia told PTI that the plane caught fire after crashing and fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze

An Air India plane bound for London crashed in a locality near Ahmedabad airport Thursday afternoon soon after taking off. This took place near Meghaninagar area in Ahmedabad, reported news agency PTI.

There were 232 passengers and 10 crew on board Air India plane that crashed in residential area near Ahmedabad airport, the DGCA officials told PTI.

The plane crashed soon after taking off from Ahmedabad International Airport around 2 pm, police said.
