Bank unions on Sunday deferred their proposed three-day nationwide strike after receiving assurances from the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) on their key demands, including a five-day working week, reported the PTI.

The strike, called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), was scheduled to begin on September 28 and coincided with the half-yearly closing of banks. With the strike deferred, banks will remain open on Monday.
