Assembly elections 2026: Flying squads, surveillance teams deployed as MCC takes effect: ECI

The ECI has deployed over 5,173 flying squads and more than 5,200 Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs) across the poll-bound states to address complaints within 100 minutes, the poll body said

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) following the announcement of assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The ECI said that flying squads and surveillance teams have been deployed as MCC takes effect.
