Assam flood crisis: More than 100 families homeless after Dikhow River overflows

More than 100 families have been rendered homeless after devastating floods swept through Kamalchapori village in Assam's Sivasagar district, triggering a humanitarian crisis in the Nazira Assembly constituency. 

The flooding, caused by a sudden surge in the Dikhow River originating in Nagaland, inundated the village, destroying homes, household belongings, livestock and livelihoods, news agency ANI reported.
