<p>Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/kejriwal-to-march-to-pm-modis-residence-alleges-trump-link-to-e20-fuel-push--23642952" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Arvind Kejriwal</a> on Thursday claimed that his social media account had been restricted in India and questioned Meta over the reason behind the move.</p>
<p>In a post on X, the former Delhi chief minister said he had approached Meta's India office to seek clarification after discovering that his account was inaccessible within the country.</p>
<h2>Kejriwal claims account restricted in India</h2>
<p>Kejriwal said officials at <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/parliamentary-panel-seeks-zuckerbergs-apology-over-temporary-removal-of-pm-modis-facebook-video--23643301" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Meta's India office</a> informed him that his account had been restricted in India. However, according to him, the company did not provide any explanation for the restriction or indicate the steps required to restore normal access.</p>
<p>He further claimed that emails sent to the company seeking clarification had only received automated acknowledgements, with no detailed response on the issue.</p>
<p>Along with his post, Kejriwal shared a screenshot that appeared to show his account status displaying the message, "Unavailable in some locations."</p>
<p>Referring to the alleged lack of communication from the platform, he criticised Meta's handling of the matter, describing it as <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-residents-raise-concerns-over-smart-electricity-meter-rollout-23640760" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">inadequate customer service.</a></p>
<h2>Political remarks made by Kejriwal&nbsp;</h2>
<p>Kejriwal also made political remarks while questioning the restriction, alleging that the social media platform should not give in to political pressure.</p>
<p>In his post, he said, "Don't bow down to the prime minister, else he will allow you to run only his own account in India."</p>
<h2>Meta admitted to removing video of PM Modi from Facebook</h2>
<p>Meta has admitted that <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/meta-restores-pm-modis-facebook-video-after-admitting-removal-was-an-error-23641991" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Prime Minister Narendra Modi's video on Facebook was removed in error </a>and said it has now been restored as the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) summoned the global heads of Meta and Instagram over the brief blocking of the content, according to a statement on Tuesday.</p>
<p>"The content was removed in error and has since been restored," a Meta spokesperson said in a statement.</p>
<p>The video, released on July 23, marked Prime Minister Modi's first address to Gen Z during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led 36-day student protest.</p>
<h2>Only automated responses for Kejriwal</h2>
<p>There was no immediate official response from Meta; only automated responses regarding Kejriwal's claims at the time of publishing.</p>
<p>The company has also not publicly clarified the reason for the reported restriction or commented on the screenshot shared by the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/aap-leaders-detained-ahead-of-protest-outside-raghav-chadhas-residence-in-mumbai-23627568" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">AAP leader.</a></p>
