Army jawan, father shot dead in Bihar's Vaishali over suspected land dispute

An Army personnel and his father were allegedly shot dead in Bihar's Vaishali district over a suspected land dispute. Police said the victims were attacked following a pathway dispute and suspect the involvement of some relatives. An investigation is underway.

An Army personnel and his father were allegedly shot dead over a land dispute in Bihar’s Vaishali district on Sunday, officials said. Police suspect that a few relatives of the deceased might have been behind the killing, they said.

“Owing to a suspected land dispute over a pathway, the accused shot Narik Rai and his son Jitendra Kumar, who was an Army personnel. Rai died on the spot while Kumar breathed his last at Sadar hospital where he was taken for treatment,” Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar said.
