The hazy conditions were visible across parts of the city, raising concerns over air quality as Mumbai continues to experience fluctuations in pollution levels. PICS/ SHADAB KHAN

According to the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) Sameer app, the AQI reading indicated that air quality could cause breathing discomfort to sensitive groups, including people with respiratory conditions, children and the elderly

Smog can form when pollutants accumulate in the atmosphere, particularly under weather conditions that limit the dispersion of emissions from vehicles, construction activities and other sources

An AQI of 103 falls within the moderate category under India’s air quality classification system, which ranges from good to severe

Residents, especially those with asthma or other respiratory ailments, are advised to monitor air quality updates and take precautions if they experience discomfort

Limiting prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity may also help sensitive individuals reduce exposure when pollution levels rise.
