What better day than World Alzheimer’s Day, which fell on Monday (September 21), to launch a memory clinic? The Gleneagles Hospital in Parel did just that, opening a multi-disciplinary Memory Clinic and Cognitive Rehabilitation Services at their medical facility on Monday afternoon.
The key focus was integration, with the clinic bringing together specialists from Neurology, Neuropsychology, Rehabilitation, Neuropsychiatric Care and Medical Social Work (MSW) to provide a holistic approach to memory-related concerns. The expert panel addressing the press said collectively that “at times, forgetfulness and memory concerns are dismissed as a natural part of ageing. Yet, some memory lapses may warrant a more detailed evaluation.”
