A woman passenger was injured on Thursday after falling from a crowded local train during a signal halt between Mumbra and Diva railway stations in Maharashtra's Thane district, railway police officials said.

The incident took place when the local train stopped after being held at a signal during the day. According to a statement issued by Dharmendra Vishnu Aware, senior inspector of the Thane Railway police station, the compartment was heavily crowded when the woman reportedly lost her balance and fell from the moving train, which had come to a halt.
