Mumbai trekkers killed, 19 injured after bus plunges into gorge at Pabe Ghat

A bus carrying Mumbai trekkers to Rajgad Fort plunged into a gorge at Pabe Ghat, killing two people and injuring 19 others, including the driver

Two trekkers from Mumbai were killed and 19 others, including the driver, were injured after a bus carrying a group of trekkers plunged into a gorge at Pabe Ghat near Rajgad in the early hours of June 28, Rural police said.

Fatal crash

The accident occurred around 1 am when the bus, carrying 22 employees of a private company based in the SEEPZ Special Economic Zone in Andheri East, reportedly lost control while negotiating a sharp bend at Pabe Ghat and veered into the gorge. The group was travelling to Rajgad Fort for a weekend trek.
