What began as a necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic has now turned into a cherished Ganesh Chaturthi tradition for more than 100 families in Navi Mumbai, with children getting their hands dirty to make their own eco-friendly Bappa. Instead of simply bringing home a ready-made idol, the families created their own “green” Bappa.

Families from the NRI complex and surrounding areas came together for the third edition of a community workshop where children, along with their parents and grandparents, made Ganpati idols using Shaddu mitti (natural clay).
