Police have raided a spa in Maharashtra's <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/navi-mumbai-scooter-thefts-apmc-police-crack-six-cases-arrest-two--23643966" rel="nofollow">Navi Mumbai</a> township and rescued three women allegedly forced into prostitution, officials said on Tuesday.
The officials, while briefing about the operation, said that the spa manager has already been arrested, as per PTI.&nbsp;
Based on a tip-off, the police's anti-human trafficking cell conducted the raid after sending a decoy customer to the spa in Kharghar on August 8.
<h2>Three women rescued</h2>
According to PTI, the police also rescued three women from the spa and arrested its manager, identified as Arif Aziz Mansuri (35), a police release said.
While asserting more about the operation, the police officials noted that a search was on for the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/woman-allegedly-assaulted-on-goregaon-csmt-local-viral-video-sparks-outrage-23643729" rel="nofollow">woman spa owner</a> and her associate.&nbsp;
They further added, &ldquo;A case has been registered against the accused under sections 143(3) (trafficking) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.&rdquo;
<h2>Five arrested for allegedly killing Juhu security guard during robbery bid</h2>
In a separate incident, five people, including a family cook, have been arrested for allegedly killing a security guard of a residential building in Juhu and unsuccessfully trying to enter a flat for committing a robbery, police said on Saturday.&nbsp;
According to PTI, the accused allegedly strangled security guard Manojkumar Yadav (38) with a cloth rope, tied his hands, and dumped the body in the water tank of the building, a police official said.
The murder came to light when residents began searching for a missing Yadav. Police formed multiple teams to investigate the case and, with the help of technical evidence, zeroed in on Jogeshwar Udan Mallik alias Kishan, who worked as a cook at the house of a businessman living in the building.
Malik allegedly confessed to hatching a plan to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-five-arrested-for-allegedly-killing-juhu-security-guard-during-robbery-bid-23643916" rel="nofollow">kill his employer along with his wife</a> and the daughter and rob cash and jewelry from the flat.
The police officials, while briefing about the case, said, &ldquo;The conspiracy was in the works for nearly two years.&rdquo;
As per PTI, Mallik allegedly enlisted the help of Vijay Gonzare, brothers Sharad Yerudkar (41) and Mahadev Yerudkar (35), and Aniket Bornak (30) to execute his plan.
