Almost two weeks after its food business licence was suspended by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over food safety and hygiene violations, the iconic Parsi Dairy Farm reopened its doors on Wednesday, with officials deeming it to be compliant with prescribed norms.
The century-old dairy, a landmark at Marine Lines, had been ordered to shut after an FDA inspection found multiple violations, including fungal growth on production and storage area walls, improper storage of raw materials, pest infestation, inadequate sanitation, absence of a protected raw milk reception dock and lapses in labelling, among other deficiencies.
