Mumbai weather updates: City braces for heavy rainfall; IMD issues yellow alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph at isolated locations across the city and suburbs.

According to the IMD's daily bulletin, generally cloudy skies will prevail throughout the day, with moderate to heavy rain likely at isolated spots.

A nowcast warning issued at 7:50 AM stated that moderate to intense spells of rain are expected in parts of Mumbai over the next 3–4 hours.
