IMD extends yellow heat alert for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad

Yellow alert for heat extended to Thane and Raigad districts; the weather forecast agency had on Monday issued a heat warning for the city

Extending the heat wave warning for Mumbai and adjoining areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for another day, indicating hot and humid weather conditions in isolated pockets.

The weather forecast agency had on Monday issued a heat warning for the city even as Mumbai experienced hot and humid weather in the past three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), with temperatures going above 36°C. The yellow alert has also been extended to Thane and Raigad districts for Wednesday and Thursday.
