<p>The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-rains-sea-face-joins-list-of-flooded-areas-23353597" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">India Meteorological Department</a> (IMD), in its latest Mumbai weather update, has predicted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by moderate to heavy rain in Mumbai on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Many parts of Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday night. Here's the latest <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-monsoon-89-rain-related-accidents-in-mumbai-after-first-heavy-showers-23353572" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai weather update</a>.</p>
<p>The weather department has forecast a generally cloudy sky possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by moderate to heavy rain in Mumbai and its suburbs on Tuesday (June 11).</p>
<p>The maximum temperature in the city is likely to settle at 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be recorded at 25 degrees Celsius.</p>
<p>A high tide of about 3.93 metres is expected to hit Mumbai at 4.25 pm today, stated <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-rains-city-not-prepared-for-the-monsoon-this-time-23353434" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation</a> (BMC). The civic body also said that a low tide of about 1.97 metres is expected at 10.45 pm today.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, fishermen are advised not to venture along and off North and South Maharashtra from June 9 to June 13.</p>
<p>"Squally weather with wind speed 45 kmph to 55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to prevail along and off <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-rains-imd-announced-the-onset-of-monsoon-from-june-9-23353364" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">North Maharashtra coast</a> on 9th to 13th June. Fishermen are advised not to venture along and off the North Maharashtra coast during the above-mentioned period," the IMD said in its bulletin.</p>
<p>The IMD also announced the onset of southwest monsoon over Mumbai. Earlier on Sunday, Mumbai saw rainfall, indicating the start of the anticipated weather activity. The IMD had reported that the southwest monsoon has advanced to parts of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, and more areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>This year's Monsoon onset was two days earlier as the usual date of the onset is on June 1. This year, Kerala experienced widespread pre-monsoon rains.</p>
<p>Mumbai on Monday witnessed heavy rains after 7 pm, while it got 50 millimetres of rain in a 24-hour period that ended in the morning.</p>
<p>As per Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials, Raoli Camp, B Nadkarni Park and fire station localities in Wadala received 35 mm, 27 mm and 24 mm of rain, respectively, while the figures were 21 mm and 18 mm for Britannia storm water station at Reay Road and Worli fire station area, respectively, between 7 pm and 9 pm.</p>
<p>During this period, in the eastern part of the city, the Maravli municipal school area in Chembur recorded 52 mm of rain, followed by 43 mm in Collector's Colony, 29 mm in the Chembur fire station area, 27 mm in M West ward office and 22 mm in Vaibhav Nagar, the officials said.</p>
<p>In the western areas of the metropolis, Supari Tank in Bandra recorded 18 mm of rain, while it was 14 mm at the Bandra fire station area between 7 pm and 9 pm, the officials added.</p><p>
