Mumbai and its suburbs on Wednesday are expected to experience partly cloudy skies, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively. A similar forecast is in place for Thursday, with no significant changes expected in the temperature or cloud cover.

Amid the October heat, several areas in Mumbai witnessed rainfall on Tuesday, offering brief relief from the lingering post-Diwali pollution. According to IMD officials, the rain was primarily triggered by a trough in easterly winds across Maharashtra at lower levels, leading to moisture incursion. Combined with higher daytime temperatures, these factors created ideal conditions for thunderstorm development and rainfall, particularly over interior Maharashtra and the Konkan region.
