Mumbai commuters could soon see major infrastructure upgrades in the western suburbs, with outstation trains set to begin operating from Jogeshwari Junction from January 2027 and plans being explored to develop the station into a modern multimodal transit hub featuring a hotel and shopping mall.

The announcement was made during a review meeting between Mumbai North West MP Ravindra Waikar and Western Railway General Manager Ramashray Pandey, where several long-pending railway infrastructure projects in the constituency were discussed.
