The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) opposed the proposed increase in toll charges for commercial vehicles entering Mumbai from October 1, 2026. AIMTC said that the hike will add to the financial pressure on the transport sector and could eventually increase the cost of goods.

Bal Malkit Singh, advisor and former president of AIMTC, said transport operators were already facing rising operational expenses and that any increase in toll charges would further add to their costs.
