A sub-adult Indian marsh crocodile measuring approximately 3 feet 7 inches was rescued from an electricity duct inside the Aarey Metro complex in the early hours of Wednesday. The rescue also highlights the rich biodiversity of Aarey Milk Colony.

Previous sighting

Wildlife Welfare Association (WWA) volunteer Sainath Awade told mid-day that last month, a video of a sub-adult Indian marsh crocodile crossing Aarey road near the Tapeshwar and Metro crash area had gone viral. Following the sighting, a rescue team searched the area but was unable to locate the crocodile at the time.
