Mumbai enjoyed consistently clean air throughout July, with the city recording 13 days in the ‘Good’ category (AQI below 50) and the remaining days in the ‘Satisfactory’ category (AQI below 100), according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The improvement coincided with one of the wettest Julys in recent years. Heavy rainfall and strong winds — exceeding 70 kmph during first week of July — helped wash pollutants out of the atmosphere and improve air quality, experts said.
