Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil has sought permission from the Mumbai Police to hold a protest, including a hunger strike, at Azad Maidan from August 29 over the community’s long-pending demands.
In a letter addressed to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the senior police inspector of Azad Maidan police station, Jarange Patil’s authorised representative said a peaceful public meeting, agitation, hunger strike and protest would be organised at Azad Maidan under his leadership.
