A few students from Sir JJ School of Arts, Design, and Architecture have alleged that they still have not received their original marksheets despite graduating earlier this year.
The Master’s in Art Education batch started in September 2024 and concluded in June. Students claim they have not received marksheets even for their first semester.
Affected students said emails sent to the university following their examinations went unanswered.

StudentSpeak

A student, on the condition of anonymity “I am an outstationed student, and I have moved back since the course came to an end. While I have a job offer waiting, the marksheets are crucial to confirm my position. While we have provisional mark sheets, they are full of typos, and most institutes won’t accept those.”
Another student “As Art Education students, the majority of our opportunities lie in the teaching sector. However, it has become very difficult to apply to places with all our original documents not in place. Additionally, my provisional mark sheets had discrepancies in my marks too.”

University response

When contacted by mid-day, university officials said marksheets are currently being handed over from the Controller of Examinations to the respective Heads of Departments.
“Students now need to come in and fill out a no-dues form, after which they will be able to get the marksheets from the university,” said Vice-Chancellor Prof Him Chatterjee.
As these are the inaugural batches for these courses, the university also plans to establish a convocation tradition to formally hand out degrees alongside the marksheets.
