Mumbai's celebrations of Ganeshotsav came to a close on Saturday, when the city saw the last of the Ganesh idol immersions. As per mandal karyakartas, visarjan processions continued in creek water bodies of Marve and Gorai till evening given the low tide. As of 3 pm on Saturday, Mumbai saw 6936 Sarvajanik Ganesh visarjans, 28,638 gharguti visarjans, and 554 immersions after Hartalika celebrations, bringing the total to about 36,000 around the artificial and natural water bodies of the city.
