One dead, 19 injured after massive fire breaks out in 23-storey building in Mumbai's Dahisar

A major firefighting operation was launched at the spot and 36 residents were rescued from the building. 20 people were shifted to the hospital and one person was declared dead.

One person died and 19 others were injured after a mssive fire broke out on the 7th floor of 23-storey building in Mumbai's Dahisar area, the officials said on Sunday.

They said that a major firefighting operation was launched at the spot and 36 residents were rescued from the building. 20 people were shifted to the hospital among those a woman was declared dead.

According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the fire started in the electric duct, affecting wiring and electric cables from the ground to the 4th floor.
