Mumbai: Fire breaks out at commercial building near Crawford market, no injuries reported

A Level-I fire broke out early Sunday morning at Umarikar Building on L.T. Marg near Crawford Market in South Mumbai, prompting a swift response from multiple civic agencies. The incident was reported at around 6.20 am to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s fire control room.

According to officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the blaze was confined to four to five shops located on the ground floor of the building. Thick smoke had spread across approximately the same number of adjoining shops, raising concerns among nearby occupants and traders in the busy commercial area.
