Mumbai: FDA suspends KEM Hospital canteen licence over hygiene violations, halts operations

According to FDA officials, the inspection was carried out by the agency's Zone 3 team on July 15, during which food safety officers found several hygiene deficiencies and violations of provisions under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) and related regulations

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food business licence of a canteen operating at Mumbai's King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital after an inspection found unhygienic conditions and violations of food safety regulations.

The FDA has also ordered the canteen to immediately stop operations pending further action.
