Mahalaxmi Racecourse’s Gallops restaurant among five in city to have license suspended in latest FDA crackdown

Gufran Seekh Corner in Andheri West was found operating without any valid food license, with multiple hygiene and food-safety violations
In a state-wide festive season crackdown, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspended the licenses of five Mumbai establishments including the well-known Gallops restaurant inside the Royal Western India Turf Club at Mahalaxmi Racecourse after inspectors found counterfeit ghee, live cockroaches, blood-stained refrigerators, and unhygienic conditions during raids conducted on Monday and Tuesday.
Zero tolerance
FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said the government would not tolerate any compromise with public health, warning that strict legal action would continue against establishments found selling expired, tampered, or unhygienically prepared food.
