<p>Thane saw a silent show of solidarity on September 27, as people gathered at Upvan Lake for Walk For Her, a peaceful walk for women&rsquo;s safety. Curated by social activist Ritu Bhoite in collaboration with WhyLoiter, a women&rsquo;s rights campaign, the walk brought together people across genders. &ldquo;We walked for ourselves, our mothers, friends and every woman who has been a survivor. We wanted them to know they are not alone,&rdquo; Bhoite told this diarist.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Keeping up with the Kloppenburgs</h2>

<p>In Aamchi Mumbai, anything and everything seems to find a connection to its beloved Master Blaster. Imagine our delight when we learnt that the Dutch mobility expert Geert Kloppenburg &mdash; who recently released a new short documentary on Mumbai&rsquo;s cycling culture &mdash; had a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/photo/how-we-covered-sachin-tendulkar-6216/5" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Sachin Tendulkar </a>story to share.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kloppenburg is the brother of former Dutch cricketer Feiko Kloppenburg, who crossed paths with Tendulkar at the 2003 ICC World Cup in South Africa. During his visits to Mumbai earlier this year as part of the NL-EU-India Urban Mobility Conference, the Dutch cyclist made time to play a game of street cricket in SoBo alongside city-based cyclist Vijay Malhotra, who donned the &lsquo;94 Kloppengburg&rsquo; jersey. &ldquo;This Christmas, I can tell him [Feiko] I&rsquo;m the first in the family to have played in the streets of Mumbai, albeit at a lower level,&rdquo; Kloppenburg quipped. While his brother&rsquo;s tryst with India was short, the expert has designs on our city. Come October, he will return the favour, and host the second edition of the conference, this time in Amsterdam. Talk about going Dutch.</p>

<p>Mumbai is in for a weekend of wit and mischief as Hahakaar brings a packed line-up to Mukesh Mills on December 12 and 13. The FilterCopy <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai-guide/things-to-do/article/from-theatre-to-comedy-indulge-in-these-new-experiences-in-mumbai-this-weekend-23651564" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Comedy festival</a> will feature Harsh Gujral, Aakash Gupta and Atul Khatri alongside Prashasti Singh, Urooj Ashfaq, and Shreeja Chaturvedi, among others. And there&rsquo;s plenty beyond the punchlines. The stages will host improv, open mics and surprise acts, while games, food pop-ups and a sea-facing hangout offer a break between sets. As the evening winds down, the after-party will take over, stretching the festivities beyond the final gig. Consider making this one weekend where even the laughter comes with a fixed schedule.</p>
<h2>The Inn will be back</h2>

<p>For regulars of Woodside Inn, this isn&rsquo;t quite goodbye. After 15 years in Andheri, the restaurant bid farewell to its current outpost as the building went into redevelopment. &ldquo;The love our guests have shown us over the last few days gave us the confidence to continue our journey in the same neighbourhood,&rdquo; said co-founder Pankil Shah. He said the move was also an opportunity to give the restaurant a fresh face while retaining its warmth, comfort and familiar faces. The new space will be close to the existing one, with the team hoping to welcome guests in the coming months.</p>
