In a complaint that has drawn attention for both its serious allegations and its unusual sign-off as being from a “Gen Z” citizen, a young Mumbai commuter has accused a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) of kicking a ticketless passenger off a moving train at Masjid Bunder station. The complaint, filed by commuter Sachin Kumar Maurya, states that the incident took place around 9.30 am on July 25.
Maurya told mid-day that he was getting off a local train when he noticed a TTE questioning a passenger for travelling without a ticket. “After the TC came to know that the passenger did not have enough money to pay the prescribed penalty he allegedly kicked the passenger while the train was in motion, causing him to fall onto the railway tracks,” he said. Maurya said he reported the incident to the Railway Helpline 1512 at 9.26 am on July 25, 2025.
