The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is taking stringent action against property tax defaulters for financial year 2025–26. So far, 6,922 properties have been attached, 483 properties have been seized, and auction proceedings have been proposed for 210 properties.
Following the enforcement actions, 2,888 property owners immediately cleared their dues. BMC has urged all remaining defaulters to pay property tax by March 31, 2026, to avoid punitive action.
