Mumbai's civic body has set December 2027 as the target for completing the Yari Road-Lokhandwala flyover in Andheri West. The 206-metre bridge over Kavthe Creek could cut travel time from about 30 minutes to 10 minutes and ease traffic

The proposed flyover is expected to provide direct connectivity between Yari Road, Panchmarg and Vesave and areas including Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar, Lokhandwala Complex and Samarth Nagar in Andheri. PIC/BMC
Mumbai's Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects), Abhijit Bangar, directed officials to complete the construction of the flyover at the Yari Road-Lokhandwala Back Road junction in Andheri West by December 2027 after inspecting the project site and reviewing the progress of the work.
The flyover is being constructed near Amarnath Tower at the Yari Road-Lokhandwala Back Road junction over Kavthe Creek. According to the BMC's Development Plan, an 18.30-metre-wide Development Plan road has been proposed on the eastern and western sides of Kavthe Creek. However, the creek has been an obstruction to developing the planned road, prompting the civic body to undertake construction of the flyover to establish the road link.
