A 23-year-old Sakinaka resident, Chetan Bhatre, slit the throats of his 50-year-old father, Manoj Bhatre, and 75-year-old grandfather, Babu Bhatre, at his residence on Tuesday night. He also attacked his uncle with the same knife used in the killings, seriously injuring him. The accused later surrendered at the Sakinaka police station in Andheri East.

According to the police, Chetan was frustrated with his father and grandfather, who fought every night after consuming alcohol at home. The youth was employed at a medical store and was one of the breadwinners of the family, along with his sister.
