The project, with an administrative approval of Rs 8,414.53 crore, was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The move is being seen as a significant boost to connectivity in the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, represented by MP Shrikant Shinde

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday announced the extension of Metro Line-12 with a new corridor, Metro 12A,  along the busy Kalyan–Shilphata Road.

The project, which has received administrative approval of Rs 8,414.53 crore, was announced by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde.
